The Psychology Department of Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon, seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Applied Psychology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level who is committed to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in the Psychology Department based on the candidate's experience and expertise. In addition to scholarly credentials, we are looking for candidates who have enthusiasm for teaching, research, advising, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate students. We are interested in candidates who will complement the department's current course offerings and research areas in applied areas of psychology, broadly defined. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach a wide range of undergraduate psychology courses, including (but not limited to): introduction to psychology, quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, as well as introductory and seminar-level courses in areas of expertise.
  • Develop a program of research engaging undergraduate collaborators in an area of applied psychology.
  • Assist and mentor students as faculty advisor in academic and career planning.
  • Perform the normal responsibilities of a faculty member at a liberal arts university.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to individuals with the following (in the order of preference):

  • Ph.D. in Psychology by July 1, 2022
  • Teaching experience at the University level
  • A strong record of scholarship in applied psychology, broadly defined
  • Teaching and/or research and/or service that demonstrates a commitment to diversity as defined by the Linfield University diversity statement: Linfield University honors human rights and academic freedom, celebrates diverse cultures, fosters a climate of mutual respect, and promotes an inclusive environment that affirms the value of all persons
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty and colleagues and capacity to serve the department and larger university community
