Assistant Professor of Studio Art

Linfield University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Studio Art position beginning fall of 2022. Applicants must be broadly trained as artists, and demonstrate a record of strong teaching, active studio practice, scholarship, and a commitment to experiential learning. The ideal candidate would teach courses in one or more of the following areas: 2D Design, Drawing, Painting and Printmaking. Review of applications begins immediately until position is filled.   • Teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in studio art (approximately 5 courses per academic year)
  • Assist students as an advisor in academic and career planning
  • Engage professionally (through exhibition, publication, research and/or other professional activities)
  • Maintain 2D studio spaces; manage materials and equipment; and operate a printmaking studio
  • Perform the normal responsibilities of a faculty member at a liberal arts institution, including service to the Department/College/University


  • MFA in Studio Art (or allied discipline) by July 1, 2022
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (i., working with and supporting students from diverse backgrounds and experiences)

  • Demonstrated professional engagement/achievement
  • Demonstrated commitment to experiential/engaged learning
