Instructional Associate/Lab Coordinator, Human Performance

The Department of Health, Human Performance, and Athletics is seeking an Instructional Associate to teach human physiology courses and some of their associated labs with the possibility of teaching an additional exercise physiology This is a full-time, non-tenure track position that will begin Fall Semester 2017.  A review of applications begins immediately.  Applications will be accepted through April 15, 2017.

Responsibilities:         

  • Teach sections of human physiology, as well as several concomitant labs
  • Provide laboratory support and assist with special training in use of equipment e.g., operation of metabolic cart, densitometry, obtaining skin folds and anthropometric measures, etc.
  • Assist in labs for Physiological Basis of Exercise, Training, and Conditioning, Applied Exercise Physiology, Exercise Prescription and Testing, Applied Biomechanics, and/or Kinesiology
  • Engage within the HHPA department.

Required Qualifications:                     

  • Master's degree in Human Physiology, Biology, Exercise Physiology, or related field required.
  • Expertise in teaching human physiology. A secondary expertise in exercise physiology, or related areas would be helpful.
  • Experience teaching, supervising, and preparing physiology laboratories required. Experience in exercise physiology or biomechanics laboratories would be helpful.
  • Evidence of successful college/university level teaching experience and work in the field preferred.
  • Student oriented and collegial.
