Renshaw Emerging Writer Fellowship

The Creative Writing Program at Linfield University in McMinnville, OR seeks applications for the Renshaw Emerging Writer Fellowship. This is a visiting endowed two-year term faculty position. Review of applications begins immediately and applications close January 19, 2022.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach four courses per year in inquiry seminar (an initial college writing course), two sections of introduction to creative writing, and an advanced creative writing course.
  • Assist students as a mentor and in other informal advisory capacities as determined in consultation with the director of creative writing.
  • Engage professionally (through writing and giving one public campus reading).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MFA (or PhD) in Creative Writing by July 1, 2022
  • No more than one book published and/or be within five years of completion of a terminal degree in creative writing.
  • Demonstrated experience/potential for successful teaching of creative writing and first-year college writing.
  • Interest in and understanding of a liberal arts undergraduate educational experience, including student mentoring.
  • Promising publication record in fiction with publications in a secondary genre required.
  • A publication record and/or expertise that expands and diversifies current creative writing course offerings preferred.
