Visiting Professor

The Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing invites applications for a Visiting Professor to teach classes beginning Fall 2016 semester (July 1, 2016). The School of Nursing is seeking faculty members who are nursing professionals passionate about educating nursing students and have a desire to make an impact on their education.  Applications will be accepted until February 21, 2016.   Screening of applications begins immediately. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:    

• Teach theory and clinical nursing and healthcare courses or both dependent upon programmatic needs and candidate experience.
• Student advising, department and college responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with healthcare agency professionals and other campus educators.
• Participate in the work of the ongoing and innovative work of the School of Nursing.
• Commitment to professional engagement and service to the college and nursing profession is expected.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Master of Science in Nursing is required; Doctorate in Nursing preferred.  Candidates with significant progress towards their doctorate will be considered.
• Current, unencumbered Oregon R.N. license.
• Minimum of three years practicing as an RN.
• Nursing education experience in a higher education institution preferred.
• Evidence of teaching at the BSN level preferred
• Excellent professional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining consistently high professional standards.

• Ability to relate well to colleagues, students, and staff in a small college
