Visiting Professor of Nursing
The Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing invites applications for a Visiting Professor to teach in maternal/child health, pediatrics, community health. Other specialty areas will be considered. Flexibility to teach in a variety of courses is desirable. The School of Nursing is seeking faculty members who are nursing professionals passionate about educating nursing students and have a desire to make an impact on their education. Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2017. Screening of applications begins immediately.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach theory and clinical nursing and healthcare courses or both dependent upon programmatic needs and candidate experience.
- Student advising, department and college responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with healthcare agency professionals and other campus educators.
- Participate in the work of the ongoing and innovative work of the School of Nursing.
- Commitment to professional engagement and service to the college and nursing profession is expected.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of Science in Nursing is required; Doctorate in Nursing preferred. Candidates with significant progress towards their doctorate will be considered.
- Current, unencumbered Oregon R.N. license.
- Minimum of three years practicing as an RN.
- Nursing education experience in a higher education institution preferred.
- Evidence of teaching at the BSN level preferred
- Excellent professional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining consistently high professional standards.
- Ability to relate well to colleagues, students, and staff in a small college.
